FDA will finally regulate gluten-free items!

Although gluten is an ingredient that many cannot have in their daily lives due to health issues, the FDA hadn't regulated labels claiming to be "gluten free" in the past. That's why it always seems to be a gamble to eat anything merely advertising itself as gluten free- because it just might not be.

Three certifications are available through the Gluten Intolerance Group's Gluten-Free Certification Organization(GFCO), the Celiac Sprue Association (CSA), and the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness(NFCA). These products will contain a logo stating that they are CERTIFIED. If a bag of chips merely says "Gluten Free!" on the front, it may not be.

Now, however, the FDA is stepping in to enforce criteria for the gluten free labels.
